LOSS

Power against power! On offense, anyway. Both offenses can score, but on the mound, Detroit has the power pitcher while Toronto has soft throwing Mark Buehrle. The 35-year old lefty has really cooled off in the second half of the season, and for the year opponents are hitting .284 off him. Buehrle was lit up by the visiting Orioles on Tuesday, getting blasted for 10 hits, two of them homers, while giving up four earned runs in four innings.  His ERA has shot up from 2.10 to 3.27 since June 1, an 11-start span in which he's served up 11 bombs in 64.2 innings. Toronto is on a 2-6 run, and the Blue Jays are 1-5 in Buehrle's last six starts vs. a team with a winning record. The Blue Jays are also 3-10 against a left-handed starter and face hard throwing David Price (3.18 ERA), who has allowed three, three, three, zero, zero, three, zero, one, and two runs his last nine starts. His team is 8-2 his last 10 starts, and for the year he has a sizzling 199-23 strikeout to walk ratio. And the Tigers are 4-1 in the last five meetings in Toronto. Play Detroit.
