Detroit at Minnesota

Detroit can't afford many losses with a week and half to go. The Tigers get a break tonight as they face Jose Berrios, who is 2-7 with an astronomical 8.88 ERA and Minnesota has lost his last seven starts. Berrios has allowed 32 runs (28 earned) and 41 hits his last 27 2/3 innings. Berrios is 0-5 with a 9.89 ERA at home and in just 5 1/3 innings against Detroit this season, and he has given up 12 earned runs and nine hits for a 19.06 ERA. The Twins are on pace to lose 100 games and have lost 25 of their last 31 games overall and 15 of their last 20 home games. Detroit has won two straight, scoring a total 17 runs. Buck Farmer had a good outing on Sept. 13 in pitching four scoreless innings against the Twins, so play the Tigers in this one.
