Denver at Portland

Portland defeated the Nuggets in seven games in last season's playoffs, including a 100-96 win at Denver in the deciding game. The Trail Blazers did not make any major changes during the offseason while extending the contracts of their star guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. They also re-signed Rodney Hood and added free agent forward Mario Hezonja and center Hassan Whiteside. Denver also did not make many big moves and extended the contract of Jamal Murray and picked up the option year on Paul Millsap's contract. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with a 20.1 scoring average and 10.8 rebounds per game. Millsap is probable tonight with a calf injury. Portland is a small favorite in this one and it won't take the Nuggets lightly after their grueling playoff series last season and the Blazers have home court. Play the Trail Blazers.
