Premium Pick

Top pick: #12 (CORINTHIAN SUMMER) (5-2) - Lightly-raced gelding ships up from Tampa Bay Downs where he was an impressive maiden winner April 19th. It was his first start since last July and first off a trainer change to Arnaud Delacour. He had been competitive many times in New York prior to the long layoff and is nicely spotted today in his first facing winners.

2nd pick: #4 (Loyal L S) (8-1) - Speed/stalker tired while racing between horses in a dirt sprint at Penn National April 24th. It was his first in three months and looks like a prep for his return to the turf in a stretch out attempt. He should be in this from start-to-finish.

3rd pick: #5 (Haldor) (12-1) - Four-year-old by 'Graeme Hall' ships in from Pimlico where he finished a distant second in a dirt race at this distance May 8th. The winner came right back to take another so the effort was better than it looks overall. He fits on figures and can factor in his grass debut if he handles the new surface.

4th pick: #9 (Snake Plisskin) (20-1) - He hasn't been on the turf since finishing third in a maiden contest at Gulfstream almost a year ago. He has some ability and may grab a share at a very big price.

5th pick: #11 (Belly of the Whale) (4-1) - One promising 4-year-old ships in after a trio of even efforts out of town facing tougher. One-run type is dropping to a new low in price and should be making up ground during the stretch run.
