Top pick: #3 (ON GOLDEN PAWN) (3-1) - Speedy, well bred and lightly-raced, she was a sharp winner here at this distance on July 31st when facing upper-level starter-allowance foes. It was a career best and came in her third back from an 11-month layoff.
2nd pick: #4 (Popalicious) (7-2) - Filly is as consistent as they come at this level 16-4-6-3 and finished a close-up third here at this tag going 5-furlongs Aug. 6. It was her first since arriving from the east coast, first on a synthetic surface, and first for trainer Steve Miyadi. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Lindz Winz) (5-2) - Veteran mare has won more races (8) than any other entered and has a fine record on synthetic footing (10-3-2-2). She's gone 3-1-1-1 since being claimed by Jerry Hollendorfer in late March and has Bejarano aloft for the first time.
4th pick: #5 (Hit Girl) (8-1) - Filly raced both wide and evenly here at this level Aug. 9. It was her first on the west coast and she had a tough post (11th of 11) that afternoon. She has back class and three of her four career wins have come on "poly" surfaces. Stretch threat.
