Arkansas enters off a 43-10 loss at Utah, in which quarterback KJ Jackson went 14 of 34 for 139 yards with no touchdowns, an interception, and four sacks allowed, and the Razorbacks' coaching staff hadn't settled on a starter for this game as of midweek practice. Georgia is on the road for an SEC opener, the kind of spot that produces letdowns against a number this lopsided, but the Bulldogs' defense has barely let anyone into the end zone all season, and an Arkansas offense that can't settle on a quarterback isn't the group that changes that. Cincinnati has been nearly flawless through two games, outscoring Boston College and Western Carolina 96-25 without turning the ball over once, and quarterback JC French completed 21 of 24 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns in that win. Miami's answer at quarterback is David McComb, a Kansas transfer redshirt freshman with zero career game snaps, thrown into the lineup after starter Thomas Gotkowski went down with a season-ending injury in fall camp, and he'll be without several of his top receiving options this week. Cincinnati has owned this rivalry lately, winning seventeen of the last eighteen meetings dating back to 2006 including a 27-16 decision last year, and Miami's win over Holy Cross a week ago came against an FCS team, not evidence a true freshman making his first start is ready for this leap. UCF's defense ranked 14th nationally through two weeks, holding Pittsburgh to just 69 total yards and 2.4 yards per carry in the second half; the Knights still lost 12-7. The loss wasn't about the defense: starting quarterback Alonza Barnett III suffered a hamstring injury on UCF's final drive. He will miss this game, with FIU transfer Keyone Jenkins stepping into his first start for the Knights. Georgia State is a legitimate 2-0 team, outscoring North Carolina A&T and Kennesaw State 90-27 combined. Still, neither win came against a defense playing at UCF's level tonight, and Jenkins brings real game experience from his time at FIU. A short-handed favorite at home against a defense that's already shown it can suffocate an offense is still the right side, even with the questions at quarterback. None of these three are prices worth laying on their own: Georgia at -2326, Cincinnati at -800, and UCF at -850 would each require risking far more than the payout. Combined, the number comes down to -321, and all three sides need is a win, not a cover. Georgia's defense doesn't need to blank Arkansas, UCF doesn't need Jenkins to look like a veteran, and Cincinnati needs to keep doing what it's already done twice this season.
