Chicago has allowed 128 points per game through three games, the same as New Orleans, and only Milwaukee has allowed more. All three games came without center Nic Claxton, who is out with a hamstring injury, and they included a 135-92 loss at Toronto and a 124-120 loss to Washington. The Bulls have scored 114.7 a game to Boston’s 110, and they have been outscored by 13.3 points a game while Boston has been outscored by 2. Boston is 1-1, and its loss was 121-113 at Detroit on Tuesday. Detroit has outscored its opponents by 12.7 points a game. Jayson Tatum scored 36 in Friday’s 107-103 win over New York, and Paul George scored 38 at Detroit. Chicago’s one win, 132-125 at Milwaukee, came against the team that allows the most points in the league. Boston has the scorers to take advantage of a defense that has allowed at least 124 in every game and is still without Claxton, so Boston should win. Oklahoma City has allowed 96.3 points a game through three wins, fewer than any other team in the league. San Antonio scored 104 on Tuesday, Denver 84 on Thursday, and the Clippers 101 on Sunday. Phoenix has been outscored by 16 points a game, the worst margin in the league, after a 124-83 loss at Portland and a 131-122 win over Golden State. Portland and Golden State scored 50 and 48 points in the paint and took 16 and 19 offensive rebounds, and Phoenix played both games without center Mark Williams, who had shoulder surgery in September. The Thunder swept the Suns in the first round in April by 35, 13, 12 and 9 points, and Jalen Williams missed the last two. Oklahoma City plays for the second straight night and will be without Jalen Williams, who left Sunday’s win on a stretcher with a left leg injury. He averaged 13.7 points in 30 or more minutes in each of the three games. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 in that win, and the Thunder scored 64 in the paint. Those paint points and extra possessions are what a short-handed Oklahoma City can take from a defense that has allowed 124 and 122, so the Thunder should win. These two sides cost too much laid alone, Boston at -641 and Oklahoma City at -355. Combine them into a two-team parlay, and the ticket is -208. That parlay is the play.
