Rick Bowness retired so Winnipeg has a new coach in Scott Arniel. They lost forwards Sean Monahan and Tyler Toffoli to free agency. Edmonton opens the season at home where they had the fewest losses (28-9-4) of any NHL team last year. They return their best players on a team that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and are one of the favorites to win the West again. Connor McDavid leads an offense that was fourth in goals scored, while the defense was 10th in goals given up (2.88 per game). Play Edmonton to grab its first win.
