Washington is getting good line value in this game even though Alex Ovechkin is expected to return from an upper-body injury after missing the final three games of the regular season. The Capitals will likely switch off between Ilya Samsonov (23-12-5) and Vitek Vanecek (20-12-6) in the playoffs. Sergei Bobrovsky lost his last start for Florida when he gave up three goals against Boston after allowing three in an 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay. Bobrovsky has a 2.67 goals-against average on the season and has allowed seven goals in his two appearances against the Capitals in 2021-22. Florida has gone OVER just twice in its last 12 games as the posted totals have all been at least 6.5, and this game is no different. One of the OVERs was the final game of the season when the Panthers rested some starters and were beaten 10-2 by Montreal while playing a third-string goaltender. Washington is 4-2-1 UNDER in its last seven games, scoring only seven goals in its last four games while playing mostly without Ovechkin. The Panthers lost in the first round last year to Tampa Bay.
