Utah at San Jose

The Mammoth aren't sorry to see November end. They finished the month with a 4-8-3 record. That was the worst mark in the NHL. The oddsmaker knows what he is doing, and he's installed Utah as a mid-sized road favorite against San Jose. The Sharks have cooled off since winning six of seven games from Oct. 30 to Nov. 11. Since then, they are 4-5. San Jose ranks 21st defensively. The Sharks permit the most shots on goal, too. So they need to be putting the puck in the net. However, that hasn't been the case too often as the Sharks have failed to score more than three goals in regulation during their last 12 games. They are giving up an average of 4 goals per game over their previous three games. While the Sharks yield the most shots on goal, the defensive-minded Mammoth give up the fewest shots on net.
