The Canucks did a foolish thing on their way to possibly getting the No. 1 overall draft pick. They won a game. The tanking Canucks shut out Anaheim, 2-0, this past Thursday, taking advantage of the Ducks concluding a five-game road trip. That's just a blimp for the tanking Canucks, who are 2-14 since Dec. 30. The Maple Leafs have been even more disappointing than the Canucks given their talent level. Toronto is currently 10 points out of a playoff spot. But don't hammer that final nail in the Maple Leafs' coffin yet. Not with this opponent. Toronto buried the Canucks, 5-0, at home on Jan. 10. The Maple Leafs expect to get their points leader, William Nylander, back today. He has missed the last seven games with a groin injury. Vancouver has a long injury list, headed by goalie Thatcher Demko being out for the season and Brock Boeser sidelined with a concussion. Take the Maple Leafs.
