Toronto at Ottawa

Toronto is off to a good start as William Nylander scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Maple Leafs beat Montreal 2-1 on Wednesday. Jack Campbell had 31 saves and Petr Mrazek will likely be in net tonight and that is not a dropoff as he went 6-2-3 with a 2.06 goals-against average in limited action last season. Ottawa will play its opener as it continues a rebuilding stage, although the Senators have talented forwards in Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson. Anton Forsberg will start tonight with Matt Murray not feeling well and Forsberg played in just eight games for Ottawa in 2020-21 and went 3-4-1. The Maple Leafs are 22-6 their past 28 games after allowing two or fewer goals their previous game. The Senators are 22-52 versus Eastern Conference teams. Play the Maple Leafs.
