Toronto at Calgary

Calgary has given up on its season. The Flames are tied for the third fewest points in the NHL. They recently traded Rasmus Andersson for youth, and there are trade rumors surrounding some of their other veterans. The Maple Leafs are a major disappointment, too. But they are not ready to punt their season, at least yet. However, a loss to the lowly Flames could speed that decision up. That shouldn't happen here, though. Calgary is last in the league in scoring, averaging 2.5 goals per game. Toronto is 12th in scoring averaging 3.3 goals a game and just got back William Nylander, its assists and points leader. Nylander had been sidelined for seven games because of a groin injury. The Maple Leafs are off a much-needed, 3-2, shootout victory against Vancouver on the road this past Saturday. That was the fewest goals Toronto had given up in its last five games. Calgary's offense doesn't pose much of a threat, and its 12th-ranked defense isn't strong enough to keep the motivated Maple Leafs from producing goals. Take the Maple Leafs.
