New York used the momentum and adrenaline it sustained after winning Game 7 against Carolina on Sunday and defeated Tampa Bay, 6-2, on Wednesday night. However, the Lightning are 17-0 following a postseason loss since the start of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and they still have one of the best goalies in the league in Andrei Vasilevskiy, even though he had a bad night in Game 1. The Lightning's poor showing could be attributed to a long layoff after they swept Florida on May 23, but they will definitely be focused for this one as they can't afford to go home down two games to none. Vasilevskiy is 8-4 with a 2.53 goals-against average in this year's playoffs, and he is 39-18-5 with a 2.49 GAA on the road this season. Tampa Bay still has won six of its last seven games, and it allowed twice as many goals in Game 1 as it did in the entire four-game series with the Panthers.
