What good is having the best defense in the league if you can't score? That's the situation the Capitals find themselves in. Washington ranks first in the NHL in goals allowed per game, but the Capitals have lost four in a row, scoring only five goals during this time frame. The loss of No. 2 center Pierre-Luc Dubois to a long-term lower-body injury doesn't help. Alex Ovechkin has just two goals and five assists in 12 games. Forwards Connor McMichael and Anthony Beauvillier have just one goal each. The buy sign is on the underdog Blues after they stopped their losing streak, which had reached seven games. After losing by one goal to the Blue Jackets on the road and in a shootout to Vancouver at home, the Blues' frustration came to an end with a 3-2 home win against the Oilers two days ago. The Blues welcomed No. 1 center Robert Thomas back to action in the win against Edmonton. Thomas had missed four games with an upper-body injury. Until the Capitals show more of an offensive pulse, they are a fade as a favorite. Take the Blues.
