Toronto can't wait any longer to launch a playoff surge. The Maple Leafs have dropped all three of their games since returning from the Olympic break. They looked horrible in their last game, a 5-2 home loss to Ottawa this past Saturday. It has reached the now-or-never stage for Toronto. The Maple Leafs have an opponent here they know they can beat, Philadelphia, especially at home. Toronto is 2-0 vs. the Flyers this season, winning 2-1 on Jan. 8 and 5-2 on Nov. 1. Both of those games were in Philadelphia. Now the Maple Leafs get the Flyers at home, where they have beaten them six consecutive times, including winning by five goals when they last hosted Philadelphia last season. The Maple Leafs are 16-10-6 at home this season, while the Flyers are 13-12-4 on the road. The Flyers are averaging two goals a game during their last four games.
