Ottawa at New York

The oddsmakers have basically made this one a coin flip, but I disagree. The New York Islanders have found life after starting the season with just nine wins in their first 29 games, and they have been a better than a .500 team since, covering their last 23 games. Ottawa has not been good over their last 11 games where they have found the win column just three times and have allowed an average of 3 goals per game in their last 10. The Islanders own the victory on the road against Ottawa 2-1 in the only game played between these clubs this season. A club that is gaining confidence will have a bit more here at home. Ottawa has not played in three days, and that has not been a good spot for them, as they are just 1-5 in their last six off 3+ day’s rest. The Islanders have now taken four straight vs. a team that scored 5 or more in their last game. Play on New York in this one.
