Colorado has lost three in a row in heartbreaking fashion, including Monday's 4-3 overtime defeat against Tampa Bay. The Avalanche also are dealing with key injuries, including wingers Mikko Rantanen and Matt Calvert along with goalie Philipp Grubauer. New York goaltender Semyon Varlamov will be up against his former team after making 32 saves in a 1-0 win against the Avalanche on Jan. 6. The Islanders are 15-5 over their last 20 games against the Central Division while Colorado is 1-4 its last five versus the Metropolitan Division. The Avalanche has lost five of its last seven against teams with winning records. Varlamov has a 17-11-3-1 record and 2.53 goals-against average this season. Take the Islanders.
