The New Jersey Devils open the season with three straight road games, and there is nothing like getting that first one under your belt as the offense produced 6 goals in a win vs. Philadelphia. That is good news for a team that failed to record a road win last year until their eighth roadie, and started the season at 0-7. Florida has been in the doldrums for the last few seasons, and a disappointing overtime loss to Tampa Bay can't help their egos as they are coming off a horrible season. Dating back to last season, the Panthers are now 8-23 over their last 31 games, and it doesn't appear things are changing this season. Their 23-55 mark in their last 78 games on a day of rest bodes poorly here as well. The Devils have owned this series at 48-20-3 in the last 71 meetings, and will take charge in this one. Take New Jersey.
