Montreal at Detroit

It's the second of a back-to-back road spot for the Canadiens, while rested Detroit plays its opener at home. Montreal lost at Toronto last night, 5-2, losing the faceoff battle, 36-23. Last season, Montreal was 22nd in goals allowed and 20th in save percentage. Detroit was 22-16-3 at home last year. They needed to upgrade the defense and did, adding goalie John Gibson. He had a 2.77 goals against average with the Anaheim Ducks. They also bring in defensemen Jacob Bernard-Docker and Travis Hamonic.
