Winnipeg got a hat trick from Kyle Connor and scored two short-handed goals, but still came up short in a 5-4 loss to Dallas on Thursday. The Jets and goalie Connor Hellebuyck will look to bounce back today against Los Angeles, which has split its first two games, including a 6-5 over Vegas in a shootout win. Winnipeg has won 11 of its past 14 home games. Hellebuyck won the Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP) and the Vezina Trophy (top goaltender) last season and went 47-12-3 with a 2.01 goals-against average. Darcy Kuemper is also off to a bad start as he surrendered four goals on 23 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Colorado. He will be back for the Kings today after sitting out the back-to-back situation against the Golden Knights.
