Los Angeles will try to make it two in a row after defeating the New York Rangers 4-3 on Tuesday, snapping a four-game skid with three of the losses in overtime or a shootout. The Kings have had three days off while St. Louis is playing a back-to-back after losing its third straight 3-2 to Dallas on Friday night. The Blues are playing their fourth game in seven days, and the first three were on the road. They have averaged only 2.0 goals per game over nine games. Darcy Kuemper will make a quick return from an injury and is likely to start for the Kings. He is 12-9-9 with a 2.52 goals-against average with two shutouts this season. Joel Hofer is 11-10-2 for the Blues, who have lost six straight against Western Conference teams, and five in a row versus teams with losing records. Los Angeles has won six of eight Saturday games.
