It has taken nearly seven weeks, but the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers have finally put together a three-game winning streak. They defeated the Blue Jackets, 2-1, in overtime as slight home underdogs in their last game three days ago. Prior to that, Florida swept a home-and-home series against the Red Wings. The Panthers have allowed only five goals during their three-game winning streak. They rank sixth in both allowing the fewest shots on net and in killing penalties. Seattle beat the Canucks, 5-2, at Vancouver last night to end a four-game losing streak. The Canucks have an NHL-low 48 points. The next worst team is Calgary with 59 points. Before defeating Vancouver, the Kraken were averaging only 2.2 goals in their last eight games. Seattle is 25th in scoring and second-to-last in killing penalties. The Panthers are rested.
