Edmonton at Philadelphia

Thanks to some magic by Connor McDavid, the Oilers escaped the Blue Jackets, 5-4 in overtime, at home this past Monday night. Now, Edmonton goes on a season-long seven-game road trip starting with this matchup against the well-rested Flyers. Philadelphia has been idle since Saturday. The Flyers are 7-4 in their last 11 games and occupy the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Oilers can only win by offense since their defense and goaltending are well below par. Their offense, though, hasn't scored more than three goals in any road game this season. So it is no surprise Edmonton is 1-7 in its last eight away games, losing the past four of them. The Oilers are giving up 4.1 goals a game in their last 10 overall games. The Flyers rank sixth defensively and are the fourth-best team at killing penalties.
