Calgary blew a four-goal lead and then recovered to win 9-6 in a wild Game 1 on Wednesday night. Matthew Tkachuk had a hat trick for the Flames, and Blake Coleman scored two goals to back Jacob Markstrom, who had 22 saves, although it obviously wasn't one of his better performances. The Flames have scored 18 goals in the last two meetings with Edmonton, and they have won 25 of their past 34 home games. Also, Calgary is 20-9 when playing with one day of rest and did not suffer a letdown, at least offensively after its thrilling Game 7 overtime victory against Dallas. The Flames scored two goals in the first 51 seconds for a playoff game record. The Oilers are just 2-7 in their last nine as road underdogs, and they are 17-35-1 in the past 53 meetings at Calgary. We can expect Markstrom to have a better game as he had a 2.22 goals-against average in the regular season. Go with the Flames for a Max Play.
