Detroit at San Jose

Detroit is enjoying its best start in several years as new coach Todd McLellan has the Red Wings in second place in the Atlantic Division. They do come off a 5-2 loss at Anaheim, but they still have won eight of 11 and they are 8-0 their past eight games playing with one day of rest. Detroit is 5-0 on the road against teams that have a less than .400 home winning percentage. The Red Wings have won nine of 11 against the Pacific Division dating to last season. San Jose has lost 10 of its past 12 home games. The Sharks are unlikely to duplicate their huge upset of Colorado yesterday when Philipp Kurashev scored his second goal of the game 1:48 into overtime. The Avalanche outshot them 38-23. Alex Nedeljkovic is probable for the Sharks and he has a 3.59 goals-against average with an .886 save percentage. Cam Talbot is 4-1-0 with a 2.94 GAA for Detroit. Take the Red Wings.
