Detroit is playing its third game in four nights and the first two went into overtime with the Red Wings winning both against San Jose and Montreal. New York has had trouble scoring lately, but the Islanders likely will be facing Magnus Hellberg in net for Detroit after Ville Husso went all the way and stopped 20 shots in last night's OT win against the Canadiens. Hellberg has a 2.70 goals-against average and .897 save percentage and a 3-3-1 record and Detroit has lost his past three appearances. Ilya Sorokin has a 2.44 GAA with three shutouts this season and hasn't gotten a lot of support from his teammates on the offensive side. The Red Wings are 16-38 playing with no rest and 25-52 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days spot. Take the Islanders.
