Detroit at Colorado

Detroit defeated the Avalanche 2-1 in overtime on Feb. 22 in the only meeting this season, and it ended a 10-game losing streak against Colorado. That will give the Red Wings some extra confidence in tonight's game as they strive to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Detroit has won six of eight although they come off two losses against the New York Islanders and Florida. Alex Lyon is expected to start and he is 18-10-2 with a 2.78 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage. The Avalanche have lost seven of eight versus Eastern Conference teams and Detroit has held its own on the road this season winning 15 of 28 on the season and its past three road games in a row.
