Vegas finally clinched a playoff spot later than expected, but the Golden Knights still have lost three of four while allowing 16 goals in the three losses before defeating Minnesota 7-2 on Friday. Adin Hill will be back in net for Vegas as he tries to get back in shape following an injury-filled season, but he was torched for five goals in a 5-1 loss to Edmonton Wednesday and he has lost three of his past four starts. Alexandar Georgiev will start for Colorado with a 38-18-4 record and a 3.00 goals-against average this season. The Avalanche have won five of the past seven meetings, including 3-0 on Jan. 10 and they come off a humiliating 7-0 defeat last night against Winnipeg. That will give them plenty of incentive to redeem themselves as they might have been looking ahead to this game. Take the Avalanche.
