Colorado at New York

Colorado continues to win as it clearly is the best team in the NHL at this point of the season. The Avalanche have won 19 of 26 games, and they come off a 3-1 victory over Vancouver on Tuesday. Nathan MacKinnon continued his stellar play with two goals, and Scott Wedgewood combined with MacKenzie Blackwood to stop 20 of 21 shots for the Avalanche, who have won six of seven against teams with winning records. New York has lost six of eight home games and five of seven versus the Central Division. The Islanders have lost three of four, although they did get a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. New York has scored just nine goals in six games, and it lost the first meeting 4-1 on Nov. 16. Blackwood is likely to start, and he is 6-0-1 with a 1.84 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage for Colorado. Take the Avalanche.
