Carolina at Winnipeg

The Hurricanes are better offensively than Winnipeg, averaging an NHL third-best 3.60 goals per game, while leading the league in shots on goal. Carolina is also second in the league in high-danger scoring chances. The Jets have a strong offense, too, but can't match the Hurricanes. Winnipeg rates seventh in scoring at 3.2 goals a game and is 22nd in shots on goal. The Jets usually hold a goalie edge because of Connor Hellebuyck, but their MVP is expected to miss the next four to six weeks as he undergoes a minor procedure on his knee. Carolina's likely goalie, Pyotr Kochetkov, has been outstanding in his limited appearances, going 4-0 this season with a 1.70 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. The Hurricanes are 7-3-1 on the road, losing their last stop 4-3 in a shootout loss to the Wild. Carolina outshot the Wild, 45-19, in that contest, and I expect them to be ready for a bounce-back game tonight. Take the Hurricanes.
