Pittsburgh is stepping up in defensive class after scoring seven goals against the Blackhawks this past Sunday in their first game following Christmas break. The Penguins went into the break averaging only 1.7 goals a game in their last four games. Carolina is missing a significant offensive presence with Seth Jarvis sidelined with a lower-body injury.
