Calgary's defense is bad anyway and this is the second of a back-to-back road spot after playing at Arizona last night. It was a 2-1 loss, but Calgary got center Jiri Hudler back after missing two games with an illness. Calgary is #30 in the NHL in goals allowed and in penalty killing. Their road woes continued this week as the the Flames surrendered three unanswered goals en route to a 5-3 loss, their 21st straight in Anaheim. Calgary is 4-2 OVER the total against the Pacific Division and 5-1 OVER in Saturday games. They run into a strong San Jose team, one ranked #13 in the league in goals scored, tallying 10 goals the last three games. They are rested and just had a six-game win streak end in a 5-2 loss at home to Chicago, part of an 8-4-1 run OVER the total. San Jose is 4-1 OVER the total at home, 4-0-2 OVER when playing on two days of rest, plus 8-3 OVER at home against a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
