Calgary at Edmonton

Edmonton fans can rest easy, at least for now, after the Oilers extended Connor McDavid's contract two more years. McDavid has led the NHL in points in three of his past five seasons. Leon Draisaitl finished with 106 points (52 goals, 54 assists) and wingers Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins combined for 47 goals and 46 assists in 2024-25. Hyman was injured during the playoff run, but is expected back in the lineup soon. In the meantime, Edmonton is slotting Trent Frederic in on the top line. Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard again will share time in net. Both goalies have had their ups and downs, but overall have been more than adequate. Skinner was 26-18-4 with a 2.81 goals-against average, and Pickard finished 22-10-1 with a 2.71 GAA. Calgary will start Dustin Wolf, who comes off a 29-16-8 season with a 2.64 GAA. Wolf kept the Flames in contention last season as his skaters didn't provide much help. The Flames were fourth-last in the NHL in goals scored. Calgary has lost 11 of 14 games against the Oilers and 10 of 14 on the road. Take the Oilers on the puckline.
