Buffalo's season-ending run in 2024-25, when it won 12 of 20 games, appears to have carried over to this season as the Sabers have won four of five, outscoring opponents 22-13 in that span. The Sabers beat Toronto 5-3 on Friday night when defenseman Mattias Samuelsson scored twice for Buffalo and Alex Lyon stopped 29 of 32 shots. The Sabers are 4-0 in their past four after scoring at least five goals in their previous game and 5-1 against teams that allowed that many, dating back to last season. Buffalo has gone UNDER five of six Saturday games and nine of 12 overall as an underdog. Toronto has lost three in a row heading into tonight's rematch with the Sabers, and Cayden Primeau is expected to start for the Maple Leafs. He allowed four goals in his first appearance this season against Nashville on Oct. 14. Colten Ellis is 1-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage for Buffalo.
