If there is one team Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy doesn't want to lose to, it's the Bruins. Cassidy coached Boston for seven years before joining the Las Vegas team four seasons ago. The Golden Knights blasted the Bruins 5-1 at home last season and also won at Boston. After beating the Blackhawks in overtime and the Sabres by two goals on an empty-netter with three seconds left, both at home, the Bruins face real competition here. Boston's three-game opening win streak was halted by a 4-3 loss to the Lightning. This is the Bruins' first road game since their opener. It is Boston's fifth game in nine days. The Golden Knights are returning home from a three-game road trip after a 4-2 win against Calgary this past Tuesday. Center Jack Eichel is tied for the NHL lead with nine points in four games. Eichel and Mitch Marner give the Golden Knights two of the best playmakers in the NHL. Las Vegas will be going with backup goalie Akira Schmid after Adin Hill suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of the Calgary game. The Golden Knights trailed Calgary 2-0, but rallied to win with Schmid stopping all 19 shots he faced. Schmid helped the Devils win a playoff series in 2023 and is 4-0-1 with the Golden Knights. Take Vegas to win.
