New York Islanders vs Pittsburgh Penguins

New York has won four of the past five meetings and the Islanders come off a 4-2 win over Florida on Sunday when they scored all four goals in the third period and Ilya Sorokin had 22 saves. He is likely to start tonight and Sorokin is 25-20-5 with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. New York has won seven of eight against teams with losing records and Pittsburgh has lost six of seven Tuesday games. The Penguins have gone UNDER four of six overall and they are 4-0-1 UNDER with two days rest. The Islanders are 4-0-1 UNDER their past five road games and 6-1-1 UNDER versus losing teams. The Penguins have lost eight of 11 versus the Metropolitan Division. New York is #8 in the NHL allowing 2.91 goals per game. Take the Islanders and the UNDER.

Marcus Hogberg is expected to start for New York and he has stopped all 17 shots he has faced in 40 minutes with the Islanders this season. He previously played three seasons with Ottawa from 2018-21. Alex Nedeljkovic is probable for Pittsburgh and he had 29 saves in a 3-2 overtime victory over Los Angeles his last outing on Dec. 17. The Islanders have alternated good performances offensively as they have scored six goals twice their past four games and none and one in the other two games. That doesn't bode well for scoring tonight as New York defeated the Penguins 6-3 on Saturday. The Penguins will make some defensive adjustments and they had allowed 2.83 goals per game their previous six games. Take the UNDER.

Pittsburgh is working on two days of rest and has won two in a row. They shut down Anaheim in a 2-1 victory and then Sidney Crosby scored twice in a 3-1 win over Canadiens. The Penguins are 11th on the power play. New York is 1-3-1 at home with a bad offense ranked 31st in goals scored, 29th on the power play, and last in shooting percentage (6.8%), while the defense is 30th in penalty killing.
