Los Angeles Kings vs Ottawa Senators Betting Picks

Following a 1-0 home loss to the Kings nine days ago, the Senators took off for a seven-game road trip. So far, so good for Ottawa. The Senators defeated Anaheim and San Jose to open their road swing, and now they get their chance for revenge against the Kings. They catch the Kings at low ebb. Since that victory against the Senators, the Kings have lost three in a row, falling by one goal each to the Capitals and Sharks on the road and then to the Bruins, 2-1, at home this past Friday. LA has played much better on the road than at home this season. The Kings are just 1-7 as hosts this season. Scoring has become an issue for the Kings, who have notched just six goals over the last four games. The Senators are playing much better than the Kings, winning five of their previous seven games. Given their poor home record, the Kings cannot be trusted to end their losing streak against a team playing better than them. Take the Senators. 

The Kings are one of those bad-at-home, great-on-the-road teams this season. Los Angeles is 1-4-2 at home, while a sparkling 8-1-2 as a visitor. This is the fourth of a six-game road swing for LA. So far, so good as the Kings are 3-0. They defeated the Maple Leafs 4-3 in overtime two days ago, rolled past the Canadiens 5-1, and nipped the Penguins 3-2. LA is 7-1 in its past eight away games. Ottawa is 4-4 in its last eight games. This matchup wraps up a four-game homestand for the Senators. Following this game, the Senators take to the road for seven consecutive away games. That may be on their mind. Defense is a problem for Ottawa. The Senators rank 29th defensively, surrendering 3.6 goals a game, and are 31st in the penalty kill. The Kings have been good for at least three goals in nine of their last 11 games. Take the Kings. 

Ottawa won a wild affair in the first meeting this season, 8-7 in overtime on Oct. 14, and it went OVER by nine goals. The Senators will look to make it three wins in a row following victories over Calgary and San Jose. Linus Ullmark had 36 saves against the Sharks, and he is expected in the net tonight for the Senators, who have gone OVER three straight and four of five. Los Angeles lost four of five following a win, and the Kings defeated Anaheim 2-1 on Friday night. Erik Portillo had 28 saves in his NHL debut for the Kings, so we'll likely see David Rittich tonight in this back-to-back spot. Anaheim outshot the Kings 31-18. Ottawa has had two days off while the Kings are playing on no rest. Take the Senators and the OVER.

The Ottaa Senators ill host the LA Kings tonight. The Senators haven't looked good or bad to start the season. They have been in a pair of tight checking low scoring games. The Kings have a real strong opportunity to start the season, as they wwill play 7 straight on the road. If they can have some success now, they will have a home laden schedule going forward. They have done a great job in their first two games that they have split, alloing a total of  goals in regulation. I think as the year goes on and teams start to sho fatigue and battling injuries, it is a lot easier playing on the road early in the season. I like LA in this one.
