Calgary Flames vs Philadelphia Flyers Betting Picks

Philadelphia has won three of four after defeating Vancouver 6-3 with six different goal scorers on Tuesday night. It was the NHL-best 14th comeback win of the season for the Flyers. They have held their own, splitting eight games through a mostly brutal road schedule. The Flames will get a lift from goalie Devin Cooley, who came in to replace Dustin Wolf, who allowed three goals on 11 shots in their 4-2 loss to Nashville yesterday. Cooley stopped all 12 shots he faced and he is expected to start tonight. He has a 1.98 goals-against average this season with a .933 save percentage. Philadelphia will likely give Aleksei Kolosov a chance to start after he stopped all seven shots in 15:41 of ice time against Toronto on Saturday. Philadelphia is likely to start highly-regarded goalie, Ivan Fedotov, who appeared in three games last season recording a 0-1-1 record, 4.95 goals-against average and a .811 save percentage. Those aren't good numbers, but the Flyers are willing to get him acclimated to the NHL level. The Flyers are playing a back-to-back after a 3-2 win over Vancouver when Morgan Frost scored the decisive shootout goal in the fifth round. Samuel Ersson had 24 saves for the Flyers. Calgary beat Vancouver 6-5 in overtime on Wednesday with Dan Vladar escaping with a win while saving 19 of 24 shots. The Flyers are still rebuilding and have lost eight of their past 10 road games and they are 2-9 following a win dating to the 2023-24 season. Calgary has won seven of the past nine meetings, including 4-3 on Sunday when Jacob Markstrom had 28 saves and the Flames scored three third-period goals. Calgary has won three in a row and six of eight following its 6-3 victory over Nashville on Thursday as Dan Vladar stopped 29 shots for the Flames and Markstrom is expected back in net today with a 10-10-2 record and 2.65 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage and he has won nine of his past 14 starts. Philadelphia has had trouble scoring lately and the Flyers have lost four straight and six of seven while scoring only eight goals their past four games, including a 3-2 shootout loss to Columbus on Thursday when the Flyers had a 41-28 edge in shots. Carter Hart is probable for Philadelphia and he allowed five goals against Edmonton on Tuesday. Take the Flames.
