Hard to believe, but yes, Buffalo has won eight straight games. The Sabres are worth riding at this low lay price. Buffalo came out of Christmas break and skated to a 4–1 road win against Boston two days ago. The Sabres accomplished this minus captain and star defenseman Rasmus Dahlin. He was in Sweden during the break attending to his fiancée, who had a heart transplant in the summer. The victory against the Bruins marked the first time since Dec. 7, 2023, that the Sabres won a game in which Dahlin didn't play. Dahlin is expected to return to the lineup today. Buffalo has won five road contests during its eight-game win streak. The Blues edged the Predators, 3-2, at home this past Saturday. St. Louis was outshot 32-20 in that game. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen had 28 saves in a losing effort and he is 12-12-2 with a 2.58 goals-against average this season and is the likely starter in today's game. The Sabres still have won four of seven and St. Louis will be playing its first game since Jan. 30 before the All-Star break when it lost 1-0 to Columbus and that snapped a five-game win streak. The Blues have won only 11 of 24 road games and Luukkonen had a good January when he went 5-3-0 with a 1.52 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage. Take the Sabres.
