The Avalanche snapped a two-game skid with a 6-5 victory over Calgary on Monday as they rallied from two goals down in the third period. Nathan Mackinnon scored the winner on a breakaway with 4:30 remaining. Alexander Georgiev will look to bounce back after allowing the five goals against the Flames, and he still is 14-7-1 with a 3.00 GAA. Buffalo is likely going with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who is 6-5-1 with a 2.81 GAA. He gave up six goals against St. Louis on Nov. 30 before losing 2-1 to Nashville. The Sabres have lost five of seven although they beat Arizona 5-2 on Monday. Buffalo is 1-10 after a win, 1-7 after allowing two or fewer goals its previous game and 0-4 after scoring five or more goals. Play the Avalanche.
