He also lost a fumble that Dallas returned for a touchdown. The Eagles have had extra time to prepare for this one, and Washington could have more than 20 players in COVID-19 protocol, including backup QB Kyle Allen. There also is plenty of talent in the secondary after acquiring Kendall Fuller and Ronald Darby. Philadelphia somehow made the playoffs last year, even while being depleted at wide receiver, and Carson Wentz had to do miraculous work while playing in all 16 games. Of course, the collapse of the Dallas Cowboys also helped the Eagles' cause. Philly does expect improvement on defense, especially in the secondary, and the Eagles were third in the league against the run and 19th against the pass, even with numerous injuries last season.
