Las Vegas at Cleveland

It has been a long time since the Oakland Raiders have had a competitive team. They started this season once again looking rather inept as they are off to an 0-6 start to the season. But, the Raiders have been a bit under the radar as they gave New England a scare on the road and San Diego a scare at home. The spread is the great equalizer in the NFL. On the season, the Raiders are a perfect 3-0 ATS in games in which thye are getting over 4 points and they are getting a lot of points in this one. Cleveland was supposed to struggle offensively this season, but they defied the odds with their 3-2 start as brian Hoyer has played well over his head. That was at least until last week in Jacksonville where the Jaguars not only got their first win of the season, but did so by a dominating 24-6 margin. Is that the future of the Cleveland Browns? Hoyer ended with a 46.2 passer rating against a winless team last week. I expect Hoyer to improve on that but I also don't expect him to keep playing like a Pro Bowler either. The Browns may duplicate the last two teams that took on winless opponents in consecutive games from week seven on as they both lost both games. The Browns' offense looked futile last week as they did not find the end-zone vs. a winless team. I think it is very likely that this Cleveland offense regresses going forward. The Raiders own a 5-1 ATS record following a 10+ point home loss in their last six. Cleveland has been no-shows vs. a losing team where they are now 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven. With Cleveland's defense allowing 23.2 points per game this season and Oakland allowing 26.3, points should be plentiful in this one. And, the Browns are 6-1 to the OVER in their last seven home games vs. teams with a losing road record. Take the points on Oakland and the OVER in this one.
