San Francisco hosts Denver today after allowing 30 to Arizona last Sunday, when Jacoby Brissett threw 52 passes. Nick Bosa is out with a calf injury, and defensive end Mykel Williams and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. are out with him. Mike Evans is questionable with a rib injury and did not practice Thursday. The 49ers are 3-0 and score 32.7 points a game, second in the league, and their 62.96 percent third-down conversion rate is first. That offense is real, and Denver's answer has to come from the other side of the ball: the Broncos beat the Rams, the league's top yardage offense, 30-26 last Sunday, with Bo Nix throwing two touchdowns. Denver ranks 29th in total yards and 31st in rushing at 81.0 a game, and that is the standing risk on this side. But the Broncos' defense allows 23.3 points a game (17th), and with three defensive linemen out, San Francisco's pass rush has less to work with. Denver is the bet on the spread, and I'm putting full weight behind it.
