Cincinnati is in the news again, they won a division title last season and signed QB Andy Dalton to a big contract. So will they really be up for this preseason game with nothing to prove? The bad news is that the backup QB situation is terrible or inexperienced (at best) with Jason Campbell, AJ McCaaron, Greg McElroy, and Zach Robinson. Kansas City has several significant edges this game. One is home field where they have some of the best fans in football. Another is the Chiefs coaching staff, anchored by Andy Reid who is one of the best in the game. Then there's the motivation. The Chiefs ended last year in a huge funk down the stretch, then flamed out in an embarrassing playoff collapse to the Colts. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said all four quarterbacks would play a quarter in Thursday night's preseason opener. Starter Alex Smith is a veteran, followed by Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray, and rookie Aaron Murray. Kansas City has taken some heat for the offseason and their playoffs collapse, and will have more to play for in front of the home fans than the visitors. Take the Chiefs.
