New York Jets vs Washington Redskins Point Spread Picks

The New York Jets and Washington Redskins have just three wins between them, and a composite record of 3-15. The Redskins have named Dwayne Haskins the starting QB for the rest of the season. The Jets are a better offensive team with Sam Darnold at QB as they went for 34 points last week and have now played three straight games OVER the total. Washington has scored 18 total points in their last three games, but that was against some of the best defenses in the league in San Francisco, Minnesota, and Buffalo. It will be a lot easier against the Jets who just gave up 27 to the Giants. There are a lot of favorable for points here and a lot of things that make these teams more capable than they actually are for scoring points. Make the play on the OVER.

Jay Gruden is 10-7 ATS and 12-5 UNDER in preseason and although last week's game went OVER, the Redskins did stay UNDER all four of their preseason contests in 2017. Alex Smith did not play against the Patriots and Colt McCoy completed 13-of-18 for 189 yards and two touchdowns although his team eventually blew a 17-0 lead and lost 26-17. Washington rookie running back Derrius Guice left the game with a knee injury and is out for the season with a torn ACL. Guice ran for 19 yards on six carries against New England, but he was expected to be a starter for the Redskins this season. New York comes off a 17-0 win over Atlanta and it went UNDER by 18 points. Todd Bowles is 4-9 UNDER in preseason as Jets' coach, including 6-1-1 UNDER the last two years. Sam Darnold was 13-of-18 for 96 yards and a touchdown in his pro debut and Teddy Bridgewater finished 7-of-8 for 85 yards and a TD. The Jets are 0-2 SU and ATS in Week 2 the last two years. Washington will look to play a more complete game after losing a 17-point lead, especially on defense.  Take the Redskins and the UNDER.

The Jets continue with erratic play thanks to an erratic QB in Mark Sanchez. Now in his third year, Sanchez still isn't getting it. If you are a great QB you can get away with turnovers. If you are mediocre, you cannot. Ask Tim Tebow how it's working out when you limit the picks. Sanchez has thrown 11 INTs in 11 games, passing for just 6.7 yards per attempt. The Jets are just 6-5 on the season, including a disappointing 1-4 on the road. The only win coming at Buffalo who are now proving to be an average team. The Jets aren't running the ball well either, and their once stout defense that saw only four teams top the 20 point mark a year ago, has seen seven top that mark already through 11 games. Washington has not played well either, but their last two have been inspiring, resulting in an OT loss to Dallas and a win on the road at Seattle. The Jets have become a hard team to trust, especially on the road where they are now 1-5 ATS in their last six. They can now be labeled a team that has folded down the stretch as they are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 December games. Take the points and play on Washington here.
