Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles

These two teams met in Week 12, and Philadelphia won 37-20. The score sailed OVER by 8.5 points and Philly's win was more dominating than the score indicates. Jalen Hurts went 15-for-22 for 179 yards and a TD pass with no interceptions. Saquon Barkley ran wild to the tune of 255 yards on 9.8 per carry and two TDs. Now the Rams have to face him again with the #22 run defense in the regular season. The Eagles have won 13 of their past 14 games and the only loss was in the final seconds against Washington. Philadelphia has won eight home games in a row and the weather will be in their favor against a warm-weather team as snow or rain and temperarures in the 30s are predicted for Sunday. Los Angeles has a dim history at Philadelphia as it has lost eight of the past nine meetings and the Rams are 1-6-1 ATS on the road against the Eagles. The Rams took advantage of the overrated Vikings, who had to go on the road after a deflating loss at Detroit the previous Sunday night. The Rams had the #26 defense this season allowing 353.1 yards per game and the Eagles were #7 in points scored with 27.2 per game. Not surprisingly, the Eagles were #2 in rushing with 179.3 yards per contest. Take the Eagles on the moneyline, and bet this game OVER.

Philadelphia has won six in a row, allowing just 13.8 points per game. For the season, the defense ranks sixth in points given up, eighth on third down, and No. 1 in total yards allowed. The Eagles are on a 6-3 run UNDER the total. They're also on an 11-3 run UNDER the total on the road, including a 23-14 win at the Rams last year. The Los Angeles offense is 21st in points scored with little balance. The ground game is 26th in yards, forcing QB Matt Stafford (13 TDs, 7 INTs) to do it all. Los Angeles held off the Cowboys 20-17 thanks to an offensive pass interference call that went against the Cowboys in the closing seconds, and the game went UNDER by 15 points. The Rams also made a key defensive play with about 12 minutes left when safety Jordan Fuller tackled CeeDee Lamb short of a first down on a fourth and three from the Los Angeles 11 yard line. The Rams rushed 40 times for only 3.8 yards per carry, and Jared Goff was a respectable 20 of 32 for 275 yards and an interception. Philadelphia blew a 17-0 lead and lost to Washington 27-17 as Carson Wentz was sacked eight times and threw two costly interceptions. The Eagles have a depleted offensive line, which means the offense won't show much improvement this week. The Rams have gone UNDER five of the last six seasons in Week 2, and the Eagles have stayed UNDER six of their last eight versus NFC teams. In addition, Philly is 19-7 UNDER its last 26 home games. A pair of talented quarterbacks with aggressive offensive head coaches square off in perfect Southern California weather. Philadelphia comes off a tough OT loss at Dallas, but the defending champs are still motivated to play well, just one game back in the Wild Card race and two back for the division title. Eagles' starting QB Carson Wentz is out with a fractured vertebrae, and in anticipation, Philadelphia told Nick Foles to be ready to play. Nick Foles is a Super Bowl MVP, and a terrific backup and has confidence stepping into the starting role. The Eagles match up well with a Rams offense that is third in scoring (32.7 points per game), but the defense is #19 in yards allowed, #24 against the run, and #18 in points surrendered (24.1 per game). The Rams got shut down at Chicago last week, scoring just six points. They are a big favorite here, but are just 2-8-1 ATS at home against a team with a losing road record, 16-40-2 ATS after allowing 150 or fewer passing yards, plus 22-47 ATS after getting fewer than 250 total yards in their previous game. Philadelphia is on a 10-1 ATS run against the Rams, including a 43-35 road win last season. The UNDER has hit six of the last seven games when following an Eagles loss.
