They surged forward but last week's loss was devastating, and they now have to win out, and get some help. The Chargers have seen Phil Rivers lead the surge after the sluggish start, and he has thrown for an average of 315 yards a game over the last 5 with the Chargers scoring 28.8ppg. The Jets would like nothing better than to derail the Chargers playoff hopes, and finally get back home after two offensive duds on the road wherre they combined for just 19 points. The Jets have been a much better offensive team at home, at 33.3ppg in their last 3, and should be able to move the ball enough here to push this one over the top. Make the play over the total.

The San Diego Chargers are a 1-point loss in their opener vs. Arizona from being a perfect 4-0. The Chargers' QB Phillip Rivers had a couple of off years, but he has the offense moving once again as San Diego has scored 22 points or more in seven of their last eight games, and they certainly have been a lot more consistent. The New York Jets have not played well defensively as they have allowed 82 points over their last three games at 27.3 points per game. The Chargers certainly have the ability to exploit the weaknesses, so I think the total for this one is under done. The Jets have been classified as more of a defensive team the past few years, but it has not come out in the wash as they are now 18-7-2 to the OVER in their last 27 road games against a team with a winning home record. San Diego gains offensive momentum after going for over 350 yards in their previous game as they follow by going 9-4-1 to the OVER in their last 14. The last five meetings between these teams have seen four top the total. This one is poised to do the same. This one goes OVER.
