Los Angeles Chargers vs New Orleans Saints Point Spread Picks

Los Angeles has a very strong QB rotation for the preseason in Justin Herbert and Chase Daniel. Daniel has thrown for 228 yards, three TDs, and no picks in two preseason games. The offense has averaged 20 points behind a deep wide receiver corps featuring Josh Palmer and Michael Bandy. They're an underdog to a New Orleans squad that has sleep-walked through two exhibition games, losing 17-13 to Houston and 20-19 to Green Bay. Saints starting QB Jameis Winston is dealing with a foot injury and won't play. QB Andy Dalton skipped Week 2 and has played just one drive while third-string QB Ian Book played the whole game last week and threw for just 113 yards with an interception. The defense lost both starting safeties in the offseason in Marcus Williams and Malcolm Jenkins, and the run defense has struggled this August allowing 99 and 178 rushing yards. New Orleans comes off a loss to the Vikings, but it got fine performances from backups Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill, who combined for 22 completions in 33 attempts for 214 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Hill also rushed for 45 yards on six carries as the Saints had 337 yards of total offense. Meanwhile, the Chargers struggled offensively in a 17-13 loss to Arizona as Philip Rivers stayed on the sidelines. Easton Stick completed 7-of-11 for 78 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Tyrod Taylor did complete all six of his passes for 72 yards, and Cardale Jones was 4-of-6 for 47 yards, but neither threw a TD pass. New Orleans went UNDER six of eight preseason games the last two years and each of those times it has won and covered against the Chargers, including 36-7 last year.
