Indianapolis Colts vs Minnesota Vikings

Jacksonville split two games across the Atlantic in London and lost all three road games. The offense is 29th on third down (31.82%), while the defense is 29th in yards allowed and in points surrendered (28 per game). Philadelphia is 3-0 in October, with the defense allowing an average of 12 points. They've won the last two on the road in impressive fashion, beating New York (28-3) and Cincinnati (37-17), and now come home. The offense is eighth in total yards, while the defense is seventh in yards allowed and seventh in points given up (18.9 per game). 

It's Indianapolis's second straight road game after a 23-20 loss at Houston. 39-year-old QB Joe Flacco gets the start and takes over an offense that is 19th in points scored and 20th on third down (37.62%). The defense is worse, 28th in total yards allowed and 24th on third down (42.98%). The Colts have lost six of their last nine road contests. Minnesota is home and has extra time to prepare after playing a Thursday night game. The defense is ninth in points given up and on third down, while the offense is seventh in points (26.9 per game) and 13th on third down.

Combine the Eagles (-325) and the Vikings (-225) into a 2-team parlay at -113 odds. 

Indianapolis has had two weeks to think about its humiliating 54-19 loss at Dallas on Sunday Night Football when the Colts turned it over five times and now they have an opportunity for redemption against the Vikings, who are very fortunate to be 10-3. Minnesota's defense was picked apart by Detroit and Jared Goff as he threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns and the rejuventaed Lions defense held Dalvin Cook to 23 yards on 15 carries. Kirk Cousins did throw for 425 yards, including 223 to Justin Jefferson, but the Vikings were playing catch-up most of the game. The Colts' score against the Cowboys is misleading as Indianapolis has been playing decent defense the past several games and it suffered close losses against Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Jonathan Taylor has run for 861 yards on 4.5 per carry this season and the Vikings allowed 134 rushing yards against the Lions on 30 carries. Minnesota is 3-7 ATS its past 10 December games and 3-9 ATS overall versus teams with losing records. The Colts are 14-4 UNDER their past 18 games and 30-13 UNDER in December. The Indianapolis Colts will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in this one. The Vikings return home for Week 2 after getting manhandled by the Denver Broncos in a 27-point loss. That had to leave a bad taste in their mouth despite the fact it was only an exhibition game. The Vikings will have a lot more starters on the field for this one, and I think the result is going to be heavily impacted. The Colts will be going with a pair of inexperienced quarterbacks at the top of the depth chart in Jacob Eason and Sam Ehlinger. The Colts will be without Carson Wentz until at least Week 1 of the regular season. I think with starters getting on the field things will be different this week, and Eason and Ehlinger are not going to look as good as last week. Make the play on Minnesota.

Minnesota got a win last week at Jacksonville after losing five of its previous six games. Adrian Peterson is back at practice this week, although coach Mike Zimmer isn't sure if he'll play. Sam Bradford said that it will initially be a challenge getting Peterson back into an offense that has been forced to change since Peterson was injured. The Vikings are second-to-last in the NFL, averaging just 303.0 total offense yards per game and last in rushing yardage (73.4 per game). Indianapolis is #14 in total offense (357.3 yards ppg) and ninth in points scored (25.2 ppg). Minnesota averaged only 2.9 yards per carry against the Jaguars, although Bradford had a good day completing 24-of-34 for 292 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Bradford is listed as probable for this game due to a shoulder injury. Andrew Luck was 24-of-45 for 276 yards and two touchdowns but was victimized by his two interceptions and a lost fumble in the Colts' 22-17 loss to Houston. Indy actually outyarded the Texans 348-316 but couldn't overcome five field goals by Nick Novak and Lamar Miller's 107 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Colts are 26-9 ATS their last 35 games after a loss and 23-9-1 ATS when following an ATS loss.
